In the mid
1800s, the old monastery on the shores of
Lago
Maggiore was partially converted into a Hotel: the "
Albergo dei
Tre
Re"
("Three Kings") was then born .
This name referred to the
Three
Wise
Man of the New Testament and
bears witness to the Hotel's religious past.
In 1902 the Hotel was taken over by
Carolina and
Giovanni
Gallinotto
who changed its name into Hotel
Cannero.
Maria
Carla, the current owner, manages the
Hotel with the help of her family.
In 2001 the old
"Casa della
Posta" adiacent to the Hotel was renovated.
Casa della
Posta was built around
1700 and was the home of the local noble family of Baron di
Sant'Agabio.
It has maintained its original style and decoration and, as a consequence of the hight quality of the renovation, the ceilings "a cassettoni", the
Lombard style floors and the arches have also been preserved.
In the new extension, there are both rooms and suites.
In the sitting room books
can be found in English, German and French. A coffee shop and
a fully equipped meeting room are located on the ground floor.
