Around 30-40 minutes from Cannero Riviera, Val Grande offers the best hikes around Lake Maggiore.
One of the biggest national parks in all of Europe, it rewards hikers with unbeatable views of the Alps, Lake Maggiore, and dense forests. The routes are suitable for experienced hikers, and hiring a mountain guide is strongly recommended.
For something closer to the hotel, several trails start just above Cannero and lead to beautiful viewpoints over the lake.
Routes around Monte Carza are particularly popular, offering sweeping views of the water and surrounding mountains.
Rent a bike directly at the hotel, and then the day is yours. For a leisurely ride, head south along the lake towards Verbania and visit Villa Taranto and Isola Madre’s botanical gardens.
You can also go north toward Cannobio, a nearby town with an excellent Sunday market. Continuing further north after Cannobio will take you to Ascona, a beautiful Swiss town also located on Lake Maggiore.
